HSK - Chinese Proficiency Test
Students who have completed Course 102 or 103 should be quite ready to take the level 1 or 2 written tests and the beginner level oral test. However, you are advised to learn more about the exact test format as well as the exact list of required words and vocabulary before taking the test.

What is the HSK?
HSK, Hànyǔ shuǐpíng kǎoshì, is an official Chinese language proficiency test. It consists of 6 levels of written tests and 3 levels of oral tests. The written tests and the oral tests are conducted independently from each other.
The test is essential if you plan on studying in a Chinese university.
The Written test
HSK consists of 6 levels of written tests, from Level 1 to 6 in correspondence to level A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 set by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The tests consist of listening, reading, and writing (except for level 1 and 2)
To take the tests, knowledge of the following number of vocabulary and characters are required:

The Oral Test
There are 3 levels of oral test: Beginner, intermediate and advance.
*With some extra preparation, you should be ready to take:
- The beginner test after completing Course 102 or Course 103
- The intermediate test after completing Course 116
